Mitihoon – Nakhon Ratchasima, April 21, 2025 – Phra Brahmapundit, a member of the Supreme Sangha Council and Abbot of Wat Prayurawongsawat, as the preceptor and master abbot, graciously led the ordination ceremony for 12 young novices as part of the “True Little Monk Year 11” Project. The initiative is a collaboration between Charoen Pokphand Group and True Corporation Plc. This year’s Dharma classroom is broadcast live under the theme “Gratitude and Virtue”, inspired by the Buddha’s teaching “Gratitude and gratefulness are the foundation of a good person”. This theme aligns with the Dharma guidance bestowed by the Supreme Patriarch of Thailand, aiming to instill moral and ethical values deep within the hearts of the young novices throughout their one-month monastic journey at Dhaweedharma, the practice venue (Rai Saeng Ngam) in Pak Chong, Nakhon Ratchasima. On this occasion, Mr. Supachai Chearavanont, Chief Executive Officer, Charoen Pokphand Group/ Chair of the Board of Directors, True Corporation Plc, as founder of the True Little Monk project (back row, 4th from left), Mr. Chaiwat Chuenkosum, Governor of Nakhon Ratchasima (back row, 4th from right), Dr. Art-ong Jumsai Na Ayudhya, the advisors of the program (back row, 2nd from right) together with executives from CP Group and True Corporation, including Dr. Arch Taolanon, Senior Vice Chairman of CP Group (back row, 3rd from right), Mr. Yuthasak Poomsurakul, Chief Executive Officer of CP All Plc. (back row, 3rd from left), Mr. Manat Manavutiveth, Executive Vice Chairman of Telecom and Digital Business Group, CP Group / President/CEO – Enterprise & Data Business, True Corporation (back row, 2nd from left) as well as supporters of the project together joined in the merit-making and shared in the blessings of this meaningful occasion.
You’re invited to follow the inspiring real-life journey of the 12 novice monks in “True Little Monk Year 11” Project – a unique spiritual experience filled with heart, charm, and determination. Throughout their ordination period, these young novices will explore and embody the true meaning of gratitude, or “Katanyu”, toward their benefactors – those who have done good for them without expecting anything in return. This includes not only their parents, but also teachers, friends, society, the environment, the nation, religion, and the King – each of whom plays a vital role in their lives. Honoring this gratitude with action is what Buddhism calls “Katanyu-katavedi”. Their ordination provides a rare chance to learn through lived experience self-discipline, reflection, and perseverance as a tribute to the Buddha. The program includes intensive spiritual activities like forest meditation walks, overnight stays in nature, and merit-making practices at Wat Tham Trirat to commemorate Vesak Day. Every week, the novices will also take turns giving short Dharma talks on the theme “Gratitude and Virtue”, sharing what they’ve learned from this spiritual journey. This year’s curriculum, designed by Phra Brahmapundit, is enriched with practical teachings and engaging activities that make the Dharma both profound and enjoyable throughout the one-month program.
